Area of Study: Smocking, Embroidery, Fine Machine Sewing Class Hours: 9 Class Type: Project Skill Level: All
Any girl will be ready for that special party wearing this pretty little confection!
Creating a fancy lace and smocked yoke takes special skills - all easy to learn and master during class time.
You will join pieces of lace using the twisted fagotting insertion stitch - a stitch often found on antique
garments. The lace pieces will be added to your dress yoke between pleating sections using fine machine
sewing lace-to-fabric joining techniques. Pin stitching will be added for that extra little touch. The pleated
sections will be smocked with a dainty design of stem, outline and feather stitches.
Construction techniques unique to this dress will be demonstrated during class time.
All these techniques join together to create a darling little dress every girl would be glad to add to her wardrobe!
