Chris’s Tractors

Chris’s Tractor Class Title: Chris’s Tractors

Area of Study: Embroidery
Class Hours: 6
Class Type: Project
Skill Level: You should be familiar with basic embroidery stitches and capable of stitching a slightly complex design. Some knowledge of shadow work is helpful.

This adorable 12 month size daygown concentrates on shadow work embroidery (gown construction is completed at home).

You will learn to stitch the closed herringbone stitch which creates a solid image on the wrong side of your fabric which ″shadows″ color through to the garment right side. You will practice stitching several simple geometric shapes. Phyllis will discuss how to analyze detailed shapes and break them down into simple manageable forms to stitch. When you are at ease working with these shapes, you will graduate to stitching playful green and yellow tractors on the yoke of your gown.

Ample class time is set aside to discuss construction details.
